Did you know that the bench press is not supposed to have a straight bar path? It is the only one of the big 3 that does not have and is not supposed have a straight bar path. It has a little bit of a C shape when lowering the bar to your chest and a bit of a J when pressing. You’re not only going to be stronger by engaging the proper muscles, but this will be much healthier on your shoulders. This goes for bodybuilders too not just powerlifters, if we cheated our chest we wouldn’t be as strong as we need to be, so yes you will get plenty chest hypertrophy when benching in this manner. There are multiple specifics that we can go into more detail about on how to properly accomplish this and use your entire body to create a very solid bench. Some fast squats from this morning. I’ve been very impressed with some of my high school football players and how they’ve not missed any workouts this week during “Hell week” or whatever tf they call it. None of them complained and they all got their work done. So many times people will drop off the map once a sports season begins. That’s like building a house on a foundation of mud and sticks. Eventually foundation will crumble and the house will fall down. Training cannot be seasonal. Sports are seasonal. So I been hitting the gym for a little over a year now. Impressed with my results and I cant wait to see what else the future holds. Never give up and keep at it! Failing is part of the process. If you’re trying to get stronger, should you always train with low reps? - The average person seems to think high reps are best for burning fat and achieving a more toned look. - With very few exceptions, you should utilize every rep range. Each has their benefits. - For those of you trying to get stronger, primarily training in the 1-5 range will be ideal. - However, you’ll get even stronger doing isolation work for your triceps in the 6-12 range. Your bench in the 1-5 range will thank you (especially the lock-out portion). - Those of you looking to gain muscle might think doing all of your training in the 6-12 range will be ideal. - Guess what? Utilizing heavy phases in the 1-5 range will increase your maximal strength and allow you to lift heavier weight in the 6-12 range. That will help you gain even more muscle. - To boot, lifting heavy (2-5 reps) for 5-7 sets will build plenty of muscle alone. No pump work needed. - For those of you trying to lose fat, you can simply refer to my post from yesterday. Full Body Recently started a powerlifting program with the intention of improving my bench, Squat a deadlift. This program is way different from what I’m used too doing, lol I promise I don’t do legs everyday 😂 the program is pretty repetitive, but so far I’m enjoying it! 💪🏾 ____ 1. Barbell Squat 4x3 @ 85% of my one rep max 170lbs 2. Conventional Deadlift 2x1 Up to daily max for two heavy singles 235lbs 3. Sumo Deadlift 2x1 Up to daily max for two heavy singles 225lbs 4. Seated Hamstring Curls 2x10 come as close to failure as possible with out actually failing. 5. Barbell Curls 2x10 30lbs 6. Dumbbell Hammer Curls 2x12

Who here would like to add some cushion to the pushin? 😂😂🍑 ________ I have a love/hate relationship with squats. 2 years back I had to start my fitness journey under a smith machine. “Because I didn’t have access to a free bar in my gym” now 2 years into the game I sure do see the importance of free bar squatting. But do I think there is anything wrong with the smith machine? But I prefer the gloss on it. Really happy on how everything turned out and it was a quick turn around too, definitely recommend doing this ( although no functionality lol it makes me happy 😂). Just finishing up some arms. Took the full scoop of 1up’s preworkout today 15 minutes before training as it was needed, was feeling a little gassed at the end of this work week.
