𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐝𝐢𝐩𝐬 🤔 • • So recently I’ve been getting Bloomin ads popping up left right and centre about getting rid of hip dips... well what a load of rubbish (actually shocked that these ads still exist tbh like they’re literally SELLING LIES🤯) • • • Not gonna lie growing up I thought I was ‘abnormal’ having hip dips as everyone on social media and in magazines just didn’t appear to have them and I remember googling methods to reduce the appearance of them etc! But in all honesty I now actually think they’re fab like it’s just another thing that makes us all unique (like seriously imagine how boring the world would be if we all looked the SAME). I decided to do a lil bit of research about hip dips and why we have them and it’s literally just down to your bone structure (based on the space between the hip bone and the femur (thigh bone). We all have different hip dips (some most prominent than others) purely because we’re all DIFFERENT and have DIFFERENT BODIES and bone structures!! Sorry but how can you CHANGE YOUR BONE STRUCTURE by doing some side planks (ahah not joking that was one of the many absurd ‘methods’ that claimed to reduce them). • • • I just wanna say that honestly don’t believe the things you see on insta (aka the women with “perfectly” round hips etc. The chances are that those pics are photoshopped to high heavens or they’ve had some form of ridiculous surgery). And well actually the way you pose in pics can also give an illusion of ‘hiding’ them too (swipe to see what I mean). With all these ideologies of the perfect female body floating around all over the place we often tend to forget about our own INSANE bodies!! We should actually be grateful for our own unique bodies like no one else will have the same body composition as you and that is pretty funky stuff!! • • MORAL OF THE STORY= EMBRACE THEM HIP DIPS!!

Today was absolutely perfect 🙌🏼 20 miles in the bank (along with a couple beers)!!! 🎉🍻 So thankful for the most amazing 3 humans ever for biking along side me with water, fuel and so many beautiful words of encouragement. I never hit a wall because these guys kept me going through the entire thing with their energy — nicoletherunner beersandmiles fadeley_ . 🤏🏼 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 🤏🏼 - Little bit of hams from today. Hams have been a severe weak point in the past so nice to see some sweep on the back of the leg. Anyways I thought I’d cover some little tricks I’m using to get a bit more out of my set up at home and train more effectively, even though it might be hard to be 100% optimal training at home 💁🏽‍♂️ - Strength curves are basically how hard an exercise is in the different portions of the movement. As you could expect with a plate loaded ham curl, I lose tension at the top (some machines have mechanisms in place to prevent this but the pads here outweigh the weight at the top). To overcome this I employ the bands, and due to the angle they attach from, I can get slightly more ROM with some tension (particularly as the bands wrap around parts of the leg attachment). - This is far from a perfect set up as you’ll see right at the top I lose some tension for the first couple of reps (though this set up is a HUGE improvement). Also the movements easiest at the bottom anyway so I end up making the mid-top range VERY hard (see final rep) 😂 but I felt this was a decent sacrifice to be able to get my hamstring shorter with some tension in that position rather than seeing the movement instantly become nothing at the top. Hopefully this set up and explanation has you considering if you can make some tiny tweaks to your set up like this to get a bit more out of it. Consider your strength curves, even when you’re back at the gym! 🔥

Je suis convaincu que si un crossfiter veut voir de quoi il est réellement capable en tant qu'athlète compétitif, il/elle DOIT devenir l'athlète le plus complet qu'il/elle puisse être. Par conséquent, ce crossfiter doit faire de chaque aspects du crossfit son « point fort ». Pour qu’à la fin de la journée, il/elle n’ait finalement pas de « point fort » parce qu’il est bon et compétent dans tous les aspects de ce sport. De nos jours, il existe une tonne de programmation différentes, certaines très bonnes et d'autres moins... Mais quoi qu’il advienne, celles-ci ne sont pas spécifiquement écrites pour vous. Oui, bien sûr qu’elles vous rendront meilleur, mais jusqu'où? Et en combien de temps? Voulez-vous attendre 1 an pour pouvoir enchaîner 15 strict handstand push-ups unbroken? Ou voulez-vous éliminer cet objectif de votre liste en seulement quelques mois afin de pouvoir vous attaquer à un nouveau défi directement? Vous n'avez pas de temps à perdre si votre but est de faire de la compétition car au plus le temps passe et au plus vos capacités physiologiques diminuent. Et vous avez encore moins de temps dans ce sport qui évolue si vite et dans lequel le niveau de compétition ne fait qu’augmenter de jours en jours. Si vous êtes un athlète et que vous n'êtes pas satisfait de votre niveau dans certaines des compétences requises dans le crossfit compétitif et que vous aimeriez vraiment les améliorer le plus rapidement et le plus efficacement possible ...
